Theo Jorgensen Poker Player Profile
Theo Jorgensen - Danish Poker Pro - Theo J.
Danish poker pro Theo Jorgensen learnt the game from the other side of the table, while working as a dealer in one of Copenhagen’s casinos. He wound up in the gaming industry after studying at business college and working a few different jobs, and it didn’t take him long to decide he wanted to play poker rather than just deal cards. He’s now one of the top players in Denmark, with millions of dollars in live earnings plus tournament titles to his name.
Theo’s first big tournament win came back in 2004, and the results have kept coming ever since. That first victory was in a 7-Card Stud event at the Poker EM festival for $125,248. He then took his good form on the road to Las Vegas and final tabled a Stud event at the 2007 World Series of Poker*, finishing 5th for a cash of $46,530. Next up he finished 8th at the inaugural WSOP* Europe Main Event in 2007 for $171,308, and then got the bracelet win he richly deserved the following year, scooping the £5,000 Pot Limit Omaha for $397,617. Theo also final tabled another Omaha event at the World Series in Vegas in 2009, and made a deep run in the 2010 Main Event, good for $255,242. His stellar 2010 continued when took down the WPT Grand Prix de Paris tournament for $848,736 - the biggest cash of his career so far. Success has also come on the European Poker Tour (EPT), with final tables at Deauville, Copenhagen and London among the highlights. With success in different poker variants, at different locations around the world, Theo is a formidable opponent and one of the finest players Denmark has produced.
Away from poker Theo is involved in a wide range of sports, including tennis, soccer, boxing and squash. He’s very proud to be a member of the best team in the business, and his main aim is to bring more tournament titles home to Denmark. Theo Jorgensen is a member of Team PokerStars Pro, and you can find him at the tables using the screen name ‘Theo J.’
