It was in the banking industry where Nicola Fedeli first started working with money, but after discovering Texas Hold’em he decided that it would be the world of poker where he made his money. After seeing poker on television he was instantly hooked and started learning the game before finding out how and where he could play.
He began by entering tournaments on the live poker circuit in Italy, and was soon making money finishes. First up was the 2007 Venice Poker Open, where he cashed for $3,095 after making the final table and finishing in seventh. He then final tabled a tournament held in Portorose in Slovenia, finishing third for $4,468. As the poker scene in Italy grew, PokerStars launched the Italian Poker Tour (IPT) which brought elite level poker tournaments to the country. The tour began with 255 players turning out in Venice, and Nicola was able to cash in, going deep in the Main Event to finish in tenth place and scoop $7,794 in prize money.
Away from poker, Nicola has many varied interests, including wine, martial arts and sailing. He owns a share of a wine shop in Siena, is qualified sommelier, and he’s also practiced judo for nine years. In the future he hopes to own to a boat and develop his love of sailing and the sea. He is incredibly proud to join the ranks of Team PokerStars Pro, and he sees it as a great privilege to be part of the team. His father and brother already play at PokerStars, so it’s the perfect arrangement! Nicola Fedeli plays online poker only at PokerStars, and you can find him at tables competing as ‘N.Fedeli’.
