Elena Ichim

Elena Ichim is a poker player originally from Romania, now based in Italy. She studied electronics at school, before catching the poker bug after seeing her boyfriend play online and at local casinos. Fascinated by what she saw, Elena started playing the game herself, and was soon winning local live tournaments across Tuscany.

She is also a regular face at events on the PokerStars Italian Poker Tour, and looks destined to post a decent result at one of the future legs of the tour sooner rather than later. In addition to playing live, Elena is also a regular online at PokerStars, specialising in Sit & Go tournaments. She likes the speed and rapid format which takes up less time, something which suits her style of play. She’s also found success in larger tournaments, the highlight being when she won the PokerStars Night on Stars event online in August 2009, good for prize money of €3,865.

Elena has stated that being a part of Team PokerStars Pro is an honour, and is looking forward to having the opportunity to make a name for herself by winning as many titles as she can. Away from poker, she enjoys chilling out with friends, the beach, clubbing and shopping. She plays online at PokerStars using the screen name ‘E.Ichim’.
