Team PokerStars Pro - Dario Minieri

Dario Minieri
It was a game of cards, but not poker, that launched Dario Minieri’s rise to competitive stardom. Before he was of legal age to play poker, Minieri stumbled onto the card strategy game, Magic: The Gathering. While he did not come from an exceptionally wealthy family, Minieri found that his prowess at games could afford him the ability to travel the world. During his time on the Magic circuit, someone introduced the young Italian to PokerStars.
At age 18, Minieri began to hone his new craft in low-stakes heads-up poker games on PokerStars. It would not be long before people all over the world were talking about him and his ability to play for hours upon hours. Before long, Minieri became the first player to turn PokerStars Frequent Player Points into a Porsche.
While Minieri’s bread and butter was online poker, he began to show significant promise in live action, as well. 2006 proved to be Minieri’s break-out year on the live circuit when he took third place in Baden, Austria on the European Poker Tour. In 2007, Minieri became a World Series star after making it all the way into the top 100 players of the main event.
Dario Minieri plays at PokerStars under the name ‘Dariominieri’.
