Christophe De Meulder
Christophe De Meulder
Christophe De Meulder was introduced to poker by his twin brother Matthias, also a member of Team PokerStars Pro. He is from Antwerp in Belgium, and is a regular on the European scene and beyond. Christophe and his brother are used to the spotlight, as they hosted their own TV show when they were just 10 years old. They appeared on TV for three years interviewing Belgian celebrities, but since then studies and poker have taken over.
Christophe switched on to the game slightly later than his brother, but since then he’s managed to build his bankroll. He’s primarily a cash game player, and thanks to hard work and dedication he’s moved through the levels at PokerStars. He’s recently started to concentrate on tournaments and has found some good results. Highlights so far include cash finishes at European Poker Tour (EPT) Main Events, and final table appearances in several side events. His first title win came at an event in Utrecht in 2012 for $39,506, followed a few months later by a final table finish at the PokerStars Hold’em Challenge Spring Edition in Namur. Online meanwhile, Christophe scored a 5th place finish in a $256 No Limit Hold’em event at the 2012 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), good for $28,629.
The young Belgian is an avid sports fan, and likes to get involved too. He plays basketball, football, tennis and squash on a regular basis, and believes all that physical activity helps him stay on top of his poker game. When he’s not at the poker felt or watching his favorite soccer team, Christophe likes spending time with friends and going out for dinner. He also loves to travel, which fits well with his life as a poker pro. In 2012 Christophe also took part in a reality TV show that also featured his brother and Team SportStar Fatima Moreira De Melo. He’s very proud to be a member of the PokerStars team and is looking forward to competing in all the top events and promoting poker in his home country of Belgium.
