Charlotte Van Brabander - Friend of PokerStars

Charlotte Van Brabander is a well-known face in the gaming world, with Counter-Strike as her number one game of choice. She’s spent the last few years making solid money by competing against the best players at events around the world, promoting the game at conventions, and she even writes a regular column for a gaming magazine. Now, following in the footsteps of other gamers, Charlotte is trying her hand at poker, and looks destined to be the next big thing.

After picking up the rules at local home games, Charlotte has spent the last two years honing her skills in tournaments online. She’s also been picking up some vital tips from Team Pros, with personal training sessions from Matthias and Christophe De Meulder, books written by Daniel Negreanu and a place on one of Vanessa Rousso’s poker boot camps. Its advice that seems to be doing the trick, as Charlotte scored a cash finish in the Main Event of the first-ever PokerStars Benelux Championship of Online Poker in December, 2010, beating many of the toughest players from across the region. She’s now looking to emulate the success of other female players - like Liv Boeree and Vanessa Selbst - by taking down her first major live event, inspired by how they’ve made it big in a male-dominated game.

Charlotte is also serious about building a successful career away from poker and gaming, and is currently studying Law and Criminology at university. It’s a subject she’s passionate about, in particular human rights, and she’s aiming for a job that field. In her spare time she enjoys chilling with friends, but dedicates almost all of any free time she has to poker and gaming. With tons of enthusiasm and a fierce competitive streak, you’ll no doubt see Charlotte appearing high up in the chip counts at the biggest events in the near future.
