One of the best players to come out of Singapore, Bryan Huang is making a big name for himself on the Asian poker scene. He first started playing the game when he served in the armed forces, and also while he studied accountancy. It was during his studies that he started to dedicate more of his time to poker, and many hours spent playing and reading up on the game have paid off. He’s fascinated by the game’s complexities, and has developed his skills to now be one of Singapore’s highest ever poker earners.
He first joined the live circuit in 2006, and since then he’s travelled the world seeking out the best tournaments available. He’s cashed as far and wide as Spain and the Caribbean, plus of course playing the big events in Las Vegas. He’s been able to fund his live tournament exploits by cashing consistently online at PokerStars, and he’s now one the more experienced players in Asia. The Asian scene has developed rapidly over recent times, and Bryan has been involved every step of the way. Bluff Australasia magazine voted him ‘Rookie of the Year’ in 2008; an award that was closely followed by being named ‘Asia Player of the Year’ in 2010. His live tournament results record includes cashing in three consecutive events on the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) - the opening three tournies of Season 2 in Macau, Seoul and Auckland. His biggest success on that incredible run was a 3rd place finish at APPT Macau which netted him $153,841. In fact, Macau has been a great live venue for Bryan, with plenty of other money finishes, and its results like these that have helped him become Singapore’s highest-earning player of all time. He’s also very active online, going deep in the $109 and $215 MTTs at PokerStars.
Bryan loves the fact that poker has taken him all around the world. He’s always keen to sample the local atmosphere wherever he is, and enjoying food and different cuisines is a big interest. The beach is another favorite spot to hang out, and he also enjoys playing video games. He’s proud to represent PokerStars at all the events he plays, and he’s more than happy to act as an ambassador for the game and spread the word throughout Asia.
