Ana Marquez Player Bio Highlights
Ana Marquez
Ana Marquez is a pro poker player from Spain and a rising star on the global tournament scene. After finishing school in Malaga, Ana travelled to the US to study at university in Washington DC, where she completed a thesis about the history of poker. It was around this time that she also started playing the game herself, and soon realized that she wanted to become part of the game’s history.
Ana has scored some major tournament results since hitting the live circuit in 2010. After a few small but consistent cashes in events across the world, her breakthrough came at the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in The Bahamas. Ana was one of 1,560 players that sat down to play the Main Event, and she managed to defeat most of the huge player field, eventually busting just short of the final table in 10th place for a cash of $155,000. Ana followed this up a few months later with a final table finish in a side event at the EPT Madrid Grand Final for another $10,983. Her first World Series cash came soon after, when she finished 32nd in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em, adding an additional $14,852 to her bankroll. Ana also has a long list of high-profile results in many of PokerStars biggest online tournaments, proving she has what it takes to crush both the live and online game.
When she isn’t playing poker, you can find Ana going to the cinema, listening to hip-hop music and reading books about history. For now though her target is to become one of the most successful poker players her country has ever produced; a goal that she is already well on the way to achieving. Ana plays online as a member of Team PokerStars Pro, and you can find her under the User ID ‘ana marquez’.
