OPPONENT NOTES
As the old adage goes, poker is not a game of cards, it's a game of people. PokerStars allows you to keep a profile on your opponents by giving you a window to jot down notes about their play. Your notes are saved on your system, and ready to be accessed the next time you square off against an old opponent. Read more about player notes.
DISPLAYED CONNECTION STATUS
No longer do you have to sit through the frustration of playing with an Internet slowpoke. PokerStars gives its players information about the connection status of other players. The connection status of any player can be viewed by moving your cursor over his or her player image/name.

CUSTOM APPEARANCE
With a variety of PokerStars themes to choose from, YOU are in control of your playing environment. In addition to our standard table appearance, PokerStars gives you the choice of eight alternate playing environments that vary in color and table size.
From the Options menu in the main lobby, select Themes. Then click on the Help button in the Themes window and follow the instructions for changing the appearance of your Poker Stars table. Change it as often as you like!
What Are Themes?
Themes enhance your playing environment and make it more flexible. In addition to choosing the deck, the sounds, and chat options, you can also customize the appearance of your table by selecting a visual Theme.
We offer several Themes which vary in size and color scheme.
How Themes Work
Browse through the list of available themes accessible from the Options > Themes menu and find the one you prefer. Activating the theme of your choice is an easy five-step process.
1) Go to Options > Themes in the PokerStars lobby, where you will see this:
2) Select which Theme(s) you want to download.
3) Click [Install] for each Theme that you want to download.
4) To make the Theme(s) you just selected available, you will need to close the PokerStars program, then restart it. This will download the graphics for the Theme(s) you have selected. Note: You don't have to do this right away; the Theme(s) you selected will download whenever you next start the PokerStars program.
5) To apply your Theme of choice, return to the Options > Themes menu, choose the Theme you want, then click [Apply Theme] and [OK].
This will be your default Theme. You can also change the Theme from any table by clicking on the Dealer Chip Tray and selecting [Choose Theme].
If for some reason you wish to uninstall a Theme, access the list of Themes and press the [Uninstall] button. Before uninstalling a Theme, make sure that it is not active. An active Theme can not be uninstalled.
Note: The two "Large Size" Themes, Renaissance and Saloon, will not fit on your monitor if you are using 800 x 600 or lower screen resolution. Please do not install or use these Themes unless your monitor is set to 1024 x 768 or higher resolution.

More Flexibility: Use More Than One Theme
You can apply one Theme to all tables or choose to apply different Themes to different tables.
Suppose you are playing on (or just watching) a ring game table and feel like changing its appearance. Just click on the dealer tray, press the [Choose Theme] button and select the Theme you want from the list of available Themes. If the Theme is has already been downloaded, press [Apply Theme] and specify whether you want this Theme to apply to the current table only, all ring tables, or every table. Then click [Apply Theme] and your table's look will be changed. It's that simple!
