The poker variants that will take place during the Event are as follows: Limit Texas Hold'em, 7 Card Stud, No Limit Texas Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Pot limit Texas Hold'em, 5 Card Draw, Omaha Hi/Lo.

If you win a daily qualifier, you are only eligible to play in the weekly final of that event. For example, if you qualify through a 7 Card Stud Round 1 tournament you are only eligible to play in the 7 Card Stud Round 2 tournament.

The players who finish any Round 1 tournament within the top 50 players will advance to the weekly Round 2 tournament. Cash prizes of $5 will be awarded to the top 250 players from each Round 1 tournament. Each week, five (5) players from the weekly Round 2 tournament (the "Winners"), will be awarded a spot on Team Canada to compete in the Grand Final. Cash prizes of $20 will be awarded to the top 70 players from each weekly Round 2 tournament. The weekly Round 2 tournaments are held every Saturday from August 31, 2008 until October 19, 2008 at 4PM.

In accordance with the foregoing rules and in addition to the cash prizes described in the section above, the Winners will each earn a spot on Team Canada to play against members of Team USA in the Grand Final. This includes:
Taking part in the Heads Up match: $500
Winning the Heads-Up match: $500
Being part of the team that wins each poker event overall (i.e. the team that wins the most Heads Up games in, e.g. Pot Limit Omaha): $500
Being part of the Summer Games Grand Final winning team: $500

The Grand Final has a total retail value of approximately $100,000. The total retail value of all the Summer Games Promotion Prize Packages awarded in this Contest is approximately $553,600. No cash or prize substitution is allowed unless agreed upon by PokerStars Management. All PokerStars management decisions are final.

If you did not give PokerStars.net your real name at the time of your account registration you must ensure that they have your actual name before winning or you may not be able to claim your prize.

During the Event, strict rules regarding player behavior will be enforced. These may include penalties, up to and including disqualification, for foul language, abuse of dealers, players or any other person during the Event, or any other behavior that the Event sponsor, in its sole judgment, believes to be detrimental to its conduct of the Event. If you are penalized or disqualified from the Event as a result of any rules infraction all prizes will be forfeited.

In the unlikely event of there being a draw in the Grand Final (equal result in the Heads Up games) the money that was originally to be shared among the winning team will then be shared among both teams.

PokerStars reserves the right (at any time) to cancel, modify or suspend the Event if, in the judgment of PokerStars, the Event is not capable of being conducted as specified.

In case of any disputes regarding any terms or conditions of the PokerStars Summer Games Promotion, the decision of PokerStars management is final.
