Million Dollar Men - Player Bios
Dennis Phillips
Dennis has been playing poker for years and has two previous WSOP* Circuit event cashes to his name already. But his performance at this year’s Main Event has by far eclipsed his previous success at the table. He is from St. Louis, Missouri, and works as an accountant. He goes into November’s final table as chip leader - an enviable position that gives him a great shot at becoming the next Main Event Champion!
Ivan Demidov
Ivan is from Moscow, Russia, and already had several impressive cash finishes to his name before this year’s WSOP*. He also recently made the final table of the World Series of Poker* Europe Main Event. He graduated with a degree in Math from Moscow State University in 2004 and also used to play on the Starcraft circuit. He currently lies 2nd in chips and will be looking to use his experience to make a play for the title.
Peter Eastgate
Peter is an online pro player from Denmark. He’s been playing poker ever since he finished high school and has spent the last few years building a name for himself, with a long list of live and online cashes. He tends to use an aggressive style of play at the table and will no doubt be a dangerous threat to all his opponents. He starts the Final Table 4th in chips.
Ylon Schwartz
New Yorker Ylon Schwartz has a solid record of previous World Series cash finishes - built over a career that spans more than 15 years. He’s always loved playing games, and he used to be a professional chess player. He has a medium-sized chip stack going into the Final Table, but his years of live poker experience could give him a vital edge that most of his opponents don’t have.
Darus Suharto
Darus lives in Toronto, Canada, where he works as an accountant. His biggest cash before this year came when he made the top 500 in the Main Event in 2006 - the year that saw the biggest ever number of entrants. This year he’s performed even better and will be taking home a far bigger sum of money. He’s currently one of the shorter stacked players, but still has enough left to make an impact.
David ‘Chino’ Rheem
Out of all the Million Dollar Men, California-based David ‘Chino’ Rheem has come the closest to winning a WSOP* bracelet. He finished second in a Hold’em event at the 2006 Series, and also made the final table of a Mixed Hold’em event this year. With so much previous experience, he could still end up as the new Champion, despite being one of the shortest stacks going in to the Final Table.
