- What's this all about?
- The National Heads-Up Poker Championship is an invitation-only, exclusive event in which 64 players compete in one-on-one rounds of Texas Hold’em poker. The winner of each round will advance until one player is crowned the champion. PokerStars is running free-to-enter qualifiers, and one PokerStars player will be invited to participate in the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, and be seen on national TV playing for $1,500,000.
- Great! Who's eligible?
- Anyone who lives in the US and is of the age of majority in their state can play. All you have to do is sign up for a free PokerStars account or use your existing account to enter our daily Round 1 tournaments. You do not need a ticket to play, nor do you need to contact support. Simply locate the tournament in your PokerStars game lobby under ‘Tourney’ and ‘Regional’ and play.
- What exactly can I win?
- A National Heads-Up Poker Championship Grand Prize valued at over $21,000.
- When and where will I need to go if I win?
- The National Heads-Up Championship will be played in Las Vegas from March 5-8. You must be able to travel to Las Vegas during these days. If you are unable to travel your prize will be awarded to the next runner-up and no compensation will be given in exchange. The Grand Prize package is non-transferable and has no monetary value if not used by the winner. You must arrange your own travel to Las Vegas for these days.
- How do I enter?
- All new and existing players will be able to play in as many Daily Round 1 tournaments as they like.
- How do I win?
- All you have to do to win is PLAY! Simply log in to the PokerStars game software, click ‘Tourney’ and scroll down to find the next ‘Heads-Up Qualifying – Round 1 (U.S. players)’ event. There are Round 1 tournaments at 19:00 ET and 22:00 ET, daily throughout the promotion.
- The tournaments are full! How do I play?
- Each Round 1 allows a maximum of 10,000 entries. Registration for these events opens two hours prior to their start time, and is available on a first come, first served basis.If you are shut out please try again two hours before the next event begins.
- Sounds great, but what is included in the Grand Prize Package?
- Each Grand Prize Package includes: free entry to the 2008 National Heads-Up Championship (worth $20,000), $1,000 credited to your PokerStars account for travel and 4 nights accommodation in Las Vegas during the event (March 5-8).
- Can I win more than one Round 3 Entry?
- No. If you manage to qualify for the Round 3 final with both of your free entries, you will only be eligible to play the first entry and there is no cash value awarded to your second Round 3 final entry, and it cannot be transferred.
- When are the Round 1 satellites?
- Round 1 tournaments are held every day at 19:00 ET and 22:00 ET.
- When are the Round 2 satellites?
- Round two tournaments are held on – Saturday December 27; January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; February 7, 14, and 21 at 16:00 ET.
- I won a Round 1 satellite, but it's not convenient for me to play in the Round 2 satellite that I was registered for. What should I do?
- You can ‘Unregister’ from the Round 2 satellite and receive a ticket to use in another Round 2. But remember, you must use any tickets you have during the promotion, as they have no value after the promotion ends.
- My husband opened a PokerStars account last year but never played on it. Can I play on that account under this promotion?
- No. If your husband wants to play to win a seat, that's great. But we do require that the player whose name is listed on the account play the event. Please feel free to open your own account and play.
- What are my obligations to PokerStars if I win?
- Thank you for asking. Please read our Terms and Conditions for your obligations should you win a prize during this promotion.
- Can I transfer my ticket or prize to a friend?
- No. All free entry tickets must be used by the account they are credited to. In addition, the winner of any prize during the Heads-Up Championship promotion may not transfer their prize.
