PokerStars.net Dream Job Terms & Conditions

The following are the terms and conditions of the 'PokerStars.net Dream Job' promotion (the 'Promotion') which consists of tournaments ('Tournaments') organized by the operator ('PokerStars.net') of the Internet site found at www.pokerstars.net. (the 'Site'). Your participation in Tournaments shall be deemed to be your complete acceptance of the terms and conditions herein.

  1. Entrants must be 18 years of age or of legal age of majority in their jurisdiction (whichever the greater) to participate in the Promotion. You may be asked at any stage to provide PokerStars.net or a third party with proof of age and/or identity. All players must be able to present a valid passport or other valid picture ID to verify their age and/or identity. Any player unable to produce such proof of age will be excluded or disqualified from participation in any of the Satellites and Tournaments.
  2. By participating in a Tournament of any kind on PokerStars.net, you are deemed to have granted PokerStars.net the right to use your name, likeness, voice and image in marketing and promotion campaigns in any media whatsoever without further compensation and you expressly waive any claims against PokerStars.net in this regard.

    You further agree to help promote PokerStars.net and the Site and act as a spokesperson for PokerStars.net during and after the Promotion including, but not limited to, meeting with press and participating in other events conducted by PokerStars.net. The duration of the Promotion shall be May 10, 2010 to May 9, 2011
  3. Employees and relatives of employees of PokerStars.net and any entities affiliated or related to PokerStars.net are not permitted to participate in the Promotion. For these purposes, the term 'relative' shall mean spouse, partner, parent, child or sibling.
  4. The value of the PokerStars.net Dream Job package is $100,000 AUD. This is comprised of a $60,000 annual salary and $40,000 in tournament entries.  The monthly salary will be paid directly into your nominated bank account and your tournament entries will be arranged upon request with PokerStars.net. The winning player will be required to attend and play the 2010 APPT Grand Final in Sydney. The ANZPT tournament packages offered with the PokerStars.net Dream Job will include the same benefits as are included in the standard Tournament entry package as offered on the Site. This includes the Tournament buy-in, a standard hotel room for the duration of the Tournament and a fixed allowance for travelling costs.
  5. The person whose name appears on any PokerStars.net account which wins a live Tournament entry will be deemed to be the person who played and won the live Tournament entry, and that person must attend and play in the live Tournament. In the event that for any reason whatsoever any winning entrant does not take an element of a prize at a time stipulated by PokerStars.net, then such winning entrant shall be deemed to have forfeited his/her claim to such prize and PokerStars.net shall not have any obligation to compensate the winning entrant in any way.
  6. By entering into a Tournament each entrant agrees to release, discharge and hold harmless PokerStars.net, their legal representatives, their affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from any damages whatsoever, including any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the acceptance of any prizes.
  7. PokerStars.net reserves the right, at any time, to alter these terms and conditions at is sole discretion, including to cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion if, in its sole discretion, PokerStars.net believes that the Promotion is not capable of being conducted as specified.
  8. When participating in the Promotion, you confirm that the name and address which are registered in your PokerStars.net account are correct and up to date. Any updates should be done before participating in any Tournament.
  9. In the case of disputes in regards to the participation rights, all matters relating to the awarding of the prizes and or the terms and conditions of the Event, the final decision lies with PokerStars.net' management, is binding and shall not be subject to review or appeal by an entrant or any third party.
  10. All players participating in the Promotion must abide by all PokerStars.net rules, as well as the terms of service requirements as listed at http://www.pokerstars.net/poker/room/terms/, and by PokerStars.net general tournament rules listed at http://www.pokerstars.net/poker/tournaments/rules/.
  11. These terms and conditions and matters relating hereto shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with Isle of Man law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Isle of Man courts.

FINALISTS

  1. All finalists must attend the assessment day at ANZPT Sydney, and complete a series of interviews and poker knowledge tests.
  2. Finalists must use social media to promote themselves. For the purpose of this Promotion, , ‘social media’ is defined as a category of online media where users are communicating, sharing, networking, participating and bookmarking online. Finalists are permitted to engage in other forms of promotion, but these must be approved by PokerStars.net in advance.
  3. During the Promotion, strict rules regarding player behaviour will be enforced. PokerStars.net reserves the right to take action against any player found to be abusing any aspect of the Promotion. Such action includes, but is not limited to, exclusion or suspension from the Promotion or from the Client, and the confiscation of rewards earned as a result of the abuse. The decision on what activity constitutes abuse of the Promotion lies with PokerStars.net management in its sole discretion. Such activity includes, but is not limited to, the creation of multiple accounts, bringing the Promotion or PokerStars.net into ill repute.
  4. After voting closes at 1pm AEST on 9 May, the voting tournaments for each Finalist will be subject to review to identify and remove any multiple account abuse.   
  5. In the event that for any reason whatsoever the winning entrant does not take an element of a prize at a time stipulated by PokerStars.net such winning entrant shall be deemed to have forfeited his/her claim to such prize and PokerStars.net shall not have any obligation to compensate the winning entrant in any way.
