Have you ever wanted to live the life of a poker player and play in exclusive poker tournaments? With Dream Job Australia you can. You could be signing a year’s contract with PokerStars.net worth $100,000, including an annual salary of $60,000, plus $40,000 in tournament entries. Win the big prize and you’ll be booking trips to your choice of events on the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT).

All you have to do is play in daily free-to-enter qualifying tournaments and make your way to a Grand Final. Make it to the final top 10 players and you’ll have six weeks to let the world know about your poker skills, and why you would make a good sponsored player.

If you don’t already have a PokerStars.net account, it’s easy to set one up. Simply download the free software and follow the on screen instructions. All PokerStars.net players are invited to take part, and you’ve got a great chance of qualifying as tournaments run every day.

How to play

Freeroll qualifying tournaments take place daily, Saturday to Thursday from March 1 at the times stated below. The Weekly Finals run on Fridays, and the Grand Final is set for Saturday, March 27. Register in the PokerStars.net lobby by clicking ‘Tourney’ and ‘Regional’.

Finish in the top 10 at the Grand Final you’ll become a Dream Job Australia Finalist. The Finalists will then take a poker knowledge test and meet with Team PokerStars.net Australia at ANZPT Sydney, and for the next six weeks your mission is to blog, tweet and facebook your exploits and convince the poker community you’ve got what it takes. The Finalist with the most votes gets the Dream Job!

Details of the 10 Finalists will be published here after the Grand Final. Each Finalist will have a dedicated voting tournament, and everyone can vote by registering in their favourite finalist’s event. You can find the voting tournaments in the PokerStars.net lobby under ‘Tourney’ and ‘Regional’, and the winner will be announced on May 10, 2010. Voters may only register for one tournament.
