RAPTORS POKER CHALLENGE (the "Contest") OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS ("Contest Rules")

Eligibility

No purchase necessary.  At each Toronto Raptors regular season home game played at Air Canada Centre (“Arena”) between January 9th, 2008 and April 14th, 2008 (the “Contest Period”), a total of 10,000 Raptors Poker Challenge game cards will be distributed to fans holding valid tickets to the basketball game in question and who are otherwise eligible to enter the Contest.  The Contest closes at 11:59 pm on April 14th, 2008.
This contest is open only to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the province in which they reside. Employees and their immediate families (and those with whom they are domiciled) of the Contest Sponsor, the MLSE Entities are not permitted to enter.
LIMIT one entry per Tournament Number as set forth in the Tournament Schedule below. Game cards are only valid for the Tournament Number for which they are issued as set forth in the Tournament Schedule below.

How To Play

Each Contest card distributed at the Arena will contain a five (5) “playing” card poker hand.  During each Raptors home game played during the Contest Period, the “house” hand will be announced on the Arena public address system.  Card holders whose cards feature a “poker hand” that beats the announced “house” hand will gain entry to one of the exclusive free weekly online “Basketball Winners” qualifying tournament as set forth in the “Tournament Schedule” below. What constitutes a “winning” hand is described in the “Best Poker Hands” legend appearing on the Contest game card. Each official game card will posses a unique verification number which will be used during the online registration process to verify whether holder’s card contains a “winning hand”.

Weekly Tournaments and Prizes

There will be a total of thirteen (13) weekly Wednesday “Basketball Winners” tournaments held during the Contest Period. There will be a maximum of thirteen (13) Prizes awarded during the Contest, with one (1) Prize allocated for each tournament. Weekly Wednesday “Basketball Winners” Tournament winners will be awarded entry (the “Prize”) into the weekly Sunday “PokerStars Million Dollar” Tournament. Weekly Sunday “PokerStars Million Dollar” Tournaments are held each Sunday at 8:00 PM ET during the Contest Period, as set forth in the Tournament Schedule below. Weekly Wednesday “Basketball Winners” Tournament winners are only eligible to compete in the weekly Sunday “PokerStars Million Dollar” Tournament corresponding to the Tournament Number as outlined in the Tournament Schedule below.  Approximate retail value of each Prize is approximately $3,000 CDN.

6,000 official winning game cards will be distributed at each Raptors home game during the Contest Period. Odds of winning entry into a weekly Wednesday “Basketball Winners” Tournament are 3 in 5. Odds of winning the Prize during the weekly Wednesday “Basketball Winners” Tournament depend on the number of participants and their respective skill level.

Additional Terms and Conditions

  1. By entering thisContest, entrants accept and agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules & Regulations and the decisions of the Contest Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest, which are final, binding and conclusive on all matters relative to this Contest.
  2. All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsor. Prize winner authorizes the Contest Sponsor and their representatives to use in any related publicity, if required, their name, photograph, image, any statements they may make regarding the prize, place of residence and/or voice for advertising purposes worldwide in perpetuity and in any form of media including the Internet, without any form of compensation.
  3. Only weekly Wednesday “Basketball Winners” Tournament winners will be contacted at the e-mail address provided during registration within 24 hours of winning the Wednesday “Basketball Winners” Tournament. Each tournament winner will be required to sign and return within two (2) business days, a Declaration and Release Form (the “Release Form”) confirming compliance with these Contest Rules, acceptance of a prize as awarded without substitution, and releasing the Contest Sponsor, together with the MLSE Entities from any liability in connection with the Contest including the distribution and use of the Prizes awarded herein. If a tournament winner cannot be reached within 24 hours at the e-mail address provided or fails to return the Release Form, such winner shall be deemed to have irrevocably renounced or forfeited his/her prize and any right to obtain the same.  Additionally, upon failure to comply with these Contest Rules and all Tournament rules such winner shall be deemed to have irrevocably renounced or forfeited his/her prize and any right to obtain the same. In the event that a tournament winner forfeits his/her Prize, no runner-up will be selected and no prize will be awarded for that weekly Wednesday “Basketball Winners” Qualifying Tournament.
  4. By entering this Contest, all entrants give the Contest Sponsor the right to include their name and information on any of their mailing lists for promotional purposes relating to PokerStars.net and to use their name in any publicity carried out by them, and agree to grant to the Contest Sponsor a non-exclusive irrevocable license and right to incorporate, use and reproduce the winner’s photograph, voice, name and likeness in whole or in part in and in connection with the advertising, exhibiting, marketing, promotion and exploitation of their business in any manner, in all media throughout the world. 
  5. All entrants assume and hereby fully and finally release the Contest Sponsor, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd., the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc. and each of their respective affiliated or associated companies, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from, any and all liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this Contest, or the use or misuse of any prizes granted herein, including any and all losses, damages, claims, actions and causes of action with respect to the prizes, including without limitation, in connection with travel.
  6. All other expenses on receipt and use of the prizes, including passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, taxes (federal, provincial and local), meals, gratuities, incidental charges, and service charges or facility charges, if any, are the sole responsibility of each winner.  Expenses not specifically stated herein will be the sole responsibility of each winner. 
  7. The Released Parties assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, mutilated, late, misdirected or ineligible entry forms or for any computer, online, human or technical errors or malfunctions that may occur in the administration of the Contest.  If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Released Parties or any act corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its absolute and sole discretion, to disqualify an individual and/or cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest or amend the Contest rules.  The Released Parties do not assume any responsibility for tampering, theft, defects, viruses, human errors including  gross negligence, deletions, technical or telephone, computer line, network, server, access providers, computer equipment or software problems, undeliverable messages, computer errors, lost, misdirected, late or incomplete entries or inaccurate capture of information or any online difficulties that may result in damage or malfunction the computer or the failure of the Contest Sponsor to process any entry and otherwise award any prize.  Nor is responsibility assumed for printing errors appearing in these Contest Rules or related Contest materials (including the official game cards).   In addition, the Released Parties will not assume any responsibility of any nature whatsoever in all cases where their inability to hold the Contest or to remit the prizes to the winners results from a cause beyond their control, including Acts of God, weather conditions, strike, lock-out or other labour dispute.  Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should an attempt be made, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Any attempt by anyone to damage or disrupt the Contest shall be considered a violation under criminal and civil law. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages or other remedies against such person.
  8. In the event of any dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same e-mail account, entries will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted during entry. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Winning entries may be required to provide the Contest Sponsor with proof that the claimed winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry, or forfeit the prize.
  9. This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable laws and regulations. All aspects of this Contest (including the interpretation and enforcement of these Contest Rules) shall be governed by the law of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
  10. For Quebec residents only: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling.   Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
  11. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value and/or to terminate, modify or withdraw this Contest, in whole or in part (including altering the manner in which the prizes are distributed or winners are selected), without prior notice for any reason including, if viruses, bugs, tampering or other causes beyond the Contest Sponsors’ control affect the administration, security, fairness or proper play or conduct of the Contest. In the event a substitute prize is awarded, such prize must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or otherwise.
