Play the star-studded amfAR Charity Event
This year the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will be bigger and better than ever before, and will include a glamorous Charity Event. The tournament will be held in association with HIV/AIDS research organization amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research and you can be part of it. On the day of the celebrity charity tournament, PokerStars will match any donation made by players to amfAR.
The event will be held as part of the PCA Festival of Poker at Atlantis in The Bahamas. Last year PokerStars.net qualifiers were joined by stars of music and TV, with Kelly Rowland, Montel Wiliams, Joanna Krupa, Slash and Playboy playmate Jayde Nicole all taking part.
The chairman of amfAR, fashion designer Kenneth Cole said: “We cannot overstate the value and important of your generosity. We believe that if we make the right investments today, we can conquer HIV in our lifetime.”
Already scheduled to take part in the event this year are PokerStars-sponsored sports stars such as NHL star and Olympic gold medalist Mats Sundin, tennis legend Boris Becker and French rugby player Sebastien Chabal, as well as members of Team PokerStars Pro - including superstars Daniel Negreanu and Vanessa Rousso.
How to play
The amfAR Charity Tournament takes place at the PCA at 18:00 ET on Thursday, January 13 and as part of the live tournament schedule. It’s an invite-only event, but all PokerStars players will be given the chance to win their invite in a prize draw when they register for their PCA Main Event seat.
