Job Purpose

Job Purpose

PokerStars is looking for a Chief Editor to manage a multi-lingual team of copywriters and translators. You will be responsible for the online content strategy, editorial style and PokerStars’ tone of voice. You will work closely with the production and web team on a workflow process model to fulfil the company's objectives. You will be responsible of 25 different languages, where you’ll build a different content/localization strategy designed for each language, manage budget and drive efficiencies into the team.

  • Build and implement a high-quality marketing content strategy for the websites estate.
  • Act as the brand guardian to ensure our message, brand values and style guidelines are consistent and strictly adhered to in all our player communications.

Events Manager, Europe

Job Purpose

The Events Manager based in London will be responsible for managing live poker tournament events across Europe.

This role does not involve managing live gaming operations, but rather everything surrounding it at poker events, including: managing communications; ordering promotional merchandise; coordinating staff, player and equipment logistics; acting as primary hotel liaison; planning significant brand integration at events; developing catering and entertainment plans; party planning; helping players with numerous issues, problems and concerns; and generally being both proactive and reactive to ensure the success of all aspects of events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful production of event.
  • Liaising with our central website development team to ensure information on the relevant websites is always current, relevant and accurate. 
  • Responsible for on site management at the events
  • In order to undertake this role you will be required to undertake significant amounts of travelling, attend all of the events and in many cases carry out advance inspections of locations and venues to gain a better understanding of how each event is likely to evolve.
  • The days at events can be very long and hectic, and sometimes stressful. A strong constitution and calm demeanor under pressure are required for this position.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining all expenditure within budget.
  • Conducting post-event reviews and debriefs, and then creating subsequent reports.

Job Purpose

The in-house agency Account Management & Planning team is headed up by a former Ogilvy Account Director, who currently has three Advertising Managers reporting into him. One of them covers a Central role, while the other two are split regionally across the different markets. The current Advertising Manager for EMEA is off to live in Australia, so this is a direct replacement role.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Global Advertising Manager, assisting him in the day to day running of all PokerStars advertising projects across EMEA. Active markets include UK, Germany, Nordics, France, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Czech, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia & Holland. They will also support the Director of Brand, Advertising & Design with various ad hoc projects. The role is based in smart new central London offices, right next to Oxford Circus.

Key to the role is building successful working relationships with Regional Directors and Country Managers, understanding their needs and delivering strong communications solutions on time every time to help drive success in their markets. High standards of creative quality and internal customer service have been set and the challenge is always to improve on these. Unlike most agency roles, there is a much higher degree of hands on involvement and responsibility for communications in each market.

Job Purpose

The regional marketing department is responsible for all local advertising and marketing activities spanning across dozens of different markets. As such the regional teams work closely with internal central business units which provide the regions with different areas of support of expertise. PokerStar’s regional marketing department is looking for a project manager to manage and coordinate internal projects and communication, internally and externally. The project manager will report into and work closely with Head of Regional Marketing and act as his right hand person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Head of regional marketing right hand person for management of ongoing and ad- hoc projects.
  • Act as go to person for central business units requiring feedbacks and information gathering from all regions (mainly on non region specific). E.g. distribution of TV programs, market research projects, SEO,DNS management, global advertising and branding, PR, celebrity player management etc.
  • Constantly seek to challenge and improve internal working procedures and policies directly linked to regional marketing work.
  • Collect, consolidate and manage a global cross region media plan calendar. Syndicate monthly regional marketing reports.
  • Help to follow-up on major activities in each regions; work with regional directors to ensure ROI tracking and reporting are completed and respective action points are followed

Product Manager, ACH Specialist - Isle of Man

Job Purpose

The role of Product Manager, ACH Specialist will require a committed and dedicated person to join our team who maintain our US ACH processing. The position requires involvement in the product life cycle from drafting business requirements through to release and managing the payment product to its full maturity. The tasks will include documentation and training for support, updating websites, and product guides for internal use as well as managing the configuration settings for the individual payment solutions. In addition, this role will require the oversight and management of the existing payment methods and the supplier relationships behind them. The ACH specialist will have excellent analytical skills and be able to comfortably work at a fast pace in a dynamic environment. They will be responsible for the success of the products by knowing how they will work best for the business and making sure that suppliers deliver on the often stringent demands expected by the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write high-level requirements of new ACH solutions and steer the product through software development and testing by working with payment processors, software development teams
  • Release the solution and manage ramp-up of volume. Ensure vendor meets customer support requirements and put in place proper reporting (both in-house and at vendor)
  • Serve as escalation point with vendors for various internal stakeholders such as support, payment services, accounts receivable and security. Actively manage vendor relationship and make sure that any issues or escalations are dealt with in a satisfactory fashion – make PokerStars their most important customer
  • Monitor player forums for complaints / early warning signs of payment processing issues
  • Analyse all available existing ACH solutions for decline rates, return rates, cost and speed for debit and credit transactions
  • Change the nature and size of volume split between providers based on analysis to minimize cost, increase approval rates
  • Analyze internal systems and recommend software enhancements / new reports or tools to minimize cost, reduce fraudulent transactions , increase transaction approval rates and compare quality of processing across processors
  • Identify need for and manage integrations with external services such as - identity verification, account validation / scrubbing, negative databases. Manage and optimize usage of such services such as frequency of use to ensure minimum overall total cost.

Skills and Capabilities

Essential

  • At least 3-5 years experience in product management in the online gaming, financial services or Internet industry; experience with online payment processing a plus
  • Solid understanding of ACH processing and maintaining ACH relationships; 2 years plus experience in this area is required
  • Strong business analyst; comfortable handling large sets of data and ability to drill down to minute attention to detail in order to gain the best end-result

PokerStars Director of PR & Celebrity Player Management - London

Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Central Marketing Director, this new position will be responsible for a new Business Unit that is being created through the merger of two existing BUs – PR and Celebrity Player Management. Although both marketing disciplines are distinct and different there is also a substantial overlap between how PokerStars use them as a business which will be further strengthened through this consolidation. The clearest overlap being that PR is one of the most important channels we use to promote our Celebrities through stories covering their lifestyles, performance and backgrounds.

The candidate will have two separate teams reporting into them with a total headcount of 5 (2 PR and 3 CPM) as well as a dotted line into 20 plus PR agencies and direct responsibility for managing 50 plus Celebrities (predominantly poker but also from Sport and beyond).

Key Responsibilities

Celebrity Player Management

  • Develop, evolve and be responsible for the Celebrity strategy – how does this differentiate us from the competition, what is the longer term goal, what are the key objectives, what is the mix of Celebrities we need etc.
  • Manage and evolve celebrity relationships from poker, sports and other areas:
    • Contract negotiations; 50 plus contracts to be reviewed, assessed and restructured per year including optimizing performance related incentives.
    • Performance related issues; ensuring that celebs are performing as per their contracts and rectifying the situation where they are not.
    • Day to day management; ensuring that the day to day management of the Celebs including attending events, advertising shoots, PR appointments etc. is professional and seamless.
    • Acting as the interface between the business and the Celebs; be able to manage Celebs in line with wider business strategy and requirements.
  • Ensure that the use of Celebrities is maximized throughout the marketing cycle both in terms of acquiring and retaining players.
  • Particular focus needs to be place on how we better utilize our Celebrities online and on the client through innovative promotions, tournaments and other means of interaction.
  • Work closely with Regions and other Central Marketing BUs (Brand, Advertising and Design, CRM, Events) to assess their specific requirements from Celebrities and also the best opportunities to utilise them.
  • Work closely with Celebs to develop and exploit initiatives/other organisations they are already involved in or wish to undertake e.g. other sponsors or charities.
  • Manage multi million dollar budget.
  • Develop models and reports to help quantify the value Celebs bring to PokerStars.

PR

  • Develop, evolve and be responsible for the global consumer PR strategy beyond Tournaments. Key objectives include building brand awareness, overcoming misconceptions surrounding online poker, reinforcing brand values, acquiring and retaining players.
  • Be responsible for all global tournament PR on the ground and remotely plus provide a framework and processes for PR at all local tournaments.
  • Manage all trade press and key consumer press relationships.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the central PR teams role is clearly defined and communicated to the markets and their agencies through a clear set of processes and practices.
  • Provide framework for the markets and assistance in pitching for new PR agencies.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all Agencies are delivering as per their SLAs and within global PR strategy and on brand.
  • Work with Regions and other Central Marketing BUs to identify and develop specific PR led initiatives such as Celebrity Charity tournaments and tie ups with other brands.
  • Work with other Central Marketing BUs to help build and amplify their activity i.e. building Poker players own brands, integrate PR with advertising, better utilize PR to enhance PokerStars promotions etc.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Must have a demonstrable track record of successfully managing consumer focused PR for a large blue chip brand for 5 plus years
  • Must have demonstrable track record of successfully overseeing a large stable of celebrities (15 plus) for 5 plus years
  • Must have experience working with local marketing teams on a pan Regional basis as well as a mixture of marketing teams – Advertising, CRM etc. Ideally with hands on experience in some of these areas.
  • Consider candidates from both an Agency and Client background.
  • 10 plus years work experience in marketing environment.
  • Experience within Europe and the Americas would be helpful although candidates with experience in other markets will be considered.
  • Requires a hands on individual who is also a strong strategic thinker and with excellent management skills.

Job Purpose

The role of Product Manager covers a wide variety of areas related to the payments offerings of PokerStars. The position requires involvement in the product life cycle from drafting business requirements through to release and managing the payment product to its full maturity.
